Guided Profits invades Boca Raton

by John Stiles

Boca Raton Florida is said to be the millionaires paradiseBoca Raton Arrival

The sheer beauty that surrounds the area was spectacular! Guided Profits members invaded Boca Raton from all parts of the world. We set off on our trip to Rich Schefren’s – Guided Profit System Seminar from weather that was snowy and 5 below zero. When we arrived in Boca Raton it was near 80 degrees and a perfect sunny day.

It was great to be here, we’ve been looking forward to this trip for months. The opportunity to meet Rich and all the other members was pretty cool. Or should I use a different word since we came from sub zero weather to get here.

Wrapping up the Guided Profit System

The seminar was actually the final part to a very intense training course. The weekend was filled with great information that could be applied to our business immediately. The wide range of members was refreshing, from those just getting started, to seasoned veterans. We all came here to learn from Rich Schefren and his team from Strategic Profits, many call Rich the “guru’s guru” and for good reason. Rich has coached some of the most successful people in business.

Guided Profit System Seminar

Free reports started this journey

After reading all of Rich’s free reports, I was curious to meet Rich and learn more. Every report he’s written has hit home and had a dramatic impact on me. The reports typically smack you in the face with a strong dose of reality.

One thing that any budding entrepreneur needs is the occasional dose of hard hitting reality. The first report I read was called “Internet Business Manifesto” which opened my eyes to many of the problems that face anyone attempting to build a business on the Internet.

What brought me to the Guided Profit System seminar was another jam packed report from Rich called the “Attention Age Doctrine“. One thing that has always amazed me about the reports Rich Schefren writes, is the quality of the content in each report. Rich obviously does a great deal of research into any report he writes, then he turns around and gives them away for free.

At this point in the business, it was high time to meet the man behind the reports. I wanted to meet the guy that kept smacking me upside the head with every report he published. So when the Guided Profit System coaching became available, it was an easy decision to jump in with both feet.

While the coaching was extremely intense, the seminar was both intense and very laid back at the same time. Many of the seminars I’ve been to in the past seem to fly by. This one was different, the opportunity to network and meet other members was encouraged throughout the seminar.

My wife and I met some great people

Tom Lowry learns Internet Business Secrets from MonicaYea, that’s Monica giving away my Internet business secrets to Tom Lowry, the same guy that announced to everyone that we had the dirtiest car in the parking lot! If you remember, we came from snow and 5 below zero weather to get here. I suppose that’s no excuse, but after nineteen hours on the road, washing the car was not our highest priority.

Tom turned out to be quite a character and I gave him the Blue Meanie award for his cracks about our dirty car. All in good fun Tom.

There was such a range of people at the seminar. One person who stood out in the crowd was John Jaworski, a fun guy to be around and we were both honored to meet him. My wife was quite struck with how friendly everyone was, I already knew this from the many chats during our lessons with Rich.

John, Monica and John JaworskiJohn was quite helpful in answering questions and offering advice for anyone who asked. Perhaps you recognize John as a faculty member of StomperNet.

Even with the time we had to network with other members, the weekend went way too fast. One of the highlights was meeting with Michael Tipper. Michael is creating a course on mind maps and asked some of the members to review it. I just happen to catch his call for help and offered to do a review.

After having some lengthy conversations with Michael on the power of using mind maps for your business, he asked if I would do a video review for him. I don’t know if you’ve ever done a video review, for me they always seem a bit awkward. To break the ice before the real thing, we did a warm up video.

Tom Lowry, Monica and Michael TipperThe warm up video consisted of me saying how Michael’s course sucked and it had to be the worst course I’ve ever bought. We were laughing so hard it was difficult to continue doing the video.

To be honest, Michael’s course is great! After what we learned from Rich about using maps, Michael’s mind mapping course goes into great detail on how to gain even more from using mind maps. I’ve seen Michael’s course and will be first in line when it goes into final release.

The joking around about how it was lousy was fun and actually a great way to loosen up before shooting the real video. Michael liked doing it and said he may just post the warm up video on his site to test it.

Mapping the Guided Profits Seminar

Mapping Guided ProfitsIt pays to network and make key friends with knowledge in many areas. You can gain access to things that very few others may have. Getting to know Michael Tipper was one great connection to make.

Michael is known for his detailed notes using mind maps. When he goes to meetings or seminars, he creates both hand drawn mind maps and electronic mind maps for the entire seminar.

While I had my own notes to reference, Michael gave me a full set of professionally created mind maps of the Guided Profits Seminar. Very cool indeed.

A good part of the coaching was learning how to use mind maps to manage your business and time management. The use of mind maps to manage and streamline a business has more impact than I could have imagined. Definitely more to this mapping stuff than just pretty pictures.

Meeting Rich Schefren and his Team

While we all learned a great deal from Rich, his team and the other speakers at the conference. Meeting with so many of the members was priceless.

Rich Schefren's Poker Chips

We even had the opportunity to see the famous poker chips in action! Anyone who has seen Rich in some of his videos, knows about the poker chips.

Rich seems to pull them out when he has something important to say, which is actually quite often.

Where ever Rich was, there was a conversation worth listening too. Answering questions, offering advice, always something to help the members get to the next level.

The entire Strategic Profits team was a wealth of information, every aspect of business had an expert on the team that could answer questions. The team made us all feel like part of the family throughout the weekend. When we took a road trip to the Strategic Profits office in Delray Beach, there were intimate training sessions on any subject you wanted to learn.

From Copywriting to Graphics

While some members went off to learn some advanced video and graphic techniques, I headed over to talk with Ken Leonard. Ken is one of Rich’s copywriters and we all know that using good copy in everything from ads to sales pages is an art worth learning more about.

Ken was a wealth of knowledge, giving real insights into what they work on to measure and track the marketing efforts at Strategic Profits. I was amazed at the level of detail that Ken showed, this personal chat with Ken was worth the entire trip. Having good copywriting skills has the power to increase the bottom line of any business.

Internet Marketing spies hiding on trees

Internet Marketing SpiesThere were even a few other guests, these little guys were everywhere. This particular lizard posed for the camera just outside the hotel. They were likely just spies from the competition, trying to listen in and gain access to all the Internet marketing secrets we discussed during breaks.

All in all it was a great trip to the Guided Profit System seminar in Boca Raton and Delray Beach. Many things were learned, many friends were made. Rich Schefren was in true form and smacked me some more with a good dose of reality.

The path to greatness becomes more clear with every step and action taken. The difference with this trip is the fact that Rich was able to smack me with reality live.

Time for the Beach

John Stiles consults Crabby Internet Marketing SpyHeading to the sunshine state would not be complete without walking along a few beaches. The weather for our entire trip was absolutely perfect, sunny and near 80 everyday.

Even the beach was riddled with potential Internet marketing spies. Meet Crabby, found walking along the beach. Crabby looked like he was having a rough day, so I told him a few Internet marketing secrets learned over the weekend.

Crabby promised to keep the marketing secrets safe and I set him free at the edge of the ocean. Crabby let me in on one of his secrets too. Be relentless, like the waves of the ocean, never give up!

Pretty profound lesson coming from a crab. The waves of the ocean really are relentless, they keep coming in and pounding the shores without fail. If we keep pounding away relentlessly building our business, success will come to those who follow their dreams and never give up.

Sun sets on our adventure to the Guided Profit System seminar

Guided Profits Sunset

As stated in the beginning, the beauty in Florida is spectacular from sun up to sunset. We will always have fond memories of this trip and new friends as we move forward. Along with hundreds of pictures to look back on and reflect on all we’ve learned.

The journey to get here has been quite a trip, my wish is that all who read this have a great journey of your own. Be relentless in the pursuit of your dreams, never give up.

Hey John, your enthusiasm is showing! What a great overview of what sounds like an exception weekend of learning and making new friends … and with pictures too.

Must have been a blast to see first hand the people most of us only know via the internet and emails.

Thanks for sharing the experience with us and I hope you’ll do a few more posts detailing some of the “insider info” I’m sure you’ll be using to propel your own business to higher levels.

I am especially interested in learning more about mind maps … sounds like an organizational necessity.

John,
Sounds like it was a good time in the sunshine state.

Meeting Rich Schefren and the rest of the course members I am sure was worth the trip alone. Definitely a right direction to supper charge your business.

Thanks for the information on the Guided Profit System Seminar.

Did you tell crabby if he spilled the beans, he would end up as a crab cake?
Doug

John,
Great post about Florida. I think you hit all the high points.
Your revised report was good too. It seems like you’ve included
more practical tips on how to apply the information. Good stuff.

Take care,

Hi John, Great post. So much wish I could have been there too to meet you in person. But I had to be up here in Oregon on the lovely coast. I am greatful to all of you who have shared the experience with us. I too got to experience one of Rich’s seminars live and got to meet Rich and many of the old staff. He is quite a humble person to meet in person.

Hi John,

I must say again that it was a pleasure meeting you and Monica. Even when being on the chat or seeing someone’s picture on a web page doesn’t give you the insight you get from meeting people in person. I enjoyed every minute while in Florida and I agree that the time was short. I could have spent a few more days just speaking with Rich, Brian, Carlos, Ken, Tood, and Artie, all the people there had a ton of information. I did get to talk with most of the members at the seminar and got to meet people that I never knew were part of the GPS program.
I think it would be advantageous for all members of a group like this to have a videographer capture the event for all to see their fellow members. Next time, ok Rich?
The video’s from the seminar are up and everyone should watch them over and over because the content is that good.
Your post above is an excellent documentation of what went on during this visit. My wish is that more people put up some pictures or video’s.
Thank you for your post,

Hal Hoadley

Hey John,

Great post and what a fabulous summary of a great weekend.

I can’t believe it is 5 weeks since we were rubbing shoulders with all those wonderful marketers – doesn’t time fly when you are having fun.

Thanks for your video testimonial on the Mind Mapping product – I think the “It sucks” version is much better than the “It’s great” -I just hope the camera wobble from laughing so hard is not too evident on the final edited version.

As you know I am just putting together the MInd Mapping software training part of my product and will be beta testing it before the end of the month.

You are going to have to look up some more insults for that my friend LOL

Say hi to Monica for me

Regards

Michael Tipper

Well now it seems that people read the stuff on my little site after all.

Al, the enthusiasm was the easy part. The memories from the trip will be with me for a very long time.

Doug, Crab cake? At the rate Crabby was going, he likely became a crab cake before spilling any marketing secrets.

Thanks for the review Shaun, it helps to have some extra eyes look over things.

Elsie, it would have been great to meet you Tenderspirit. Saying that Rich is a humble person is an understatement. Perhaps we’ll meet at the next seminar that Rich does.

Hal, A videographer at an event like Rich’s is a great idea!

Still kicking Carl, it’s been quite a journey. How have you been doing these days? It’s been far too long since we were on a call together.

Michael, To be honest, the “it sucks” video was much more fun to do. I hadn’t laughed that hard in far too long!

Monica says hi back to everyone too. She really had a great time and felt welcome in our group. Since she was not part of GPS Elite, it was great that everyone made her feel like part of the family.

John
