Finding my way to Internet riches was quite a ride
After bouncing around the Internet looking for all the pieces to building an internet marketing business. Many roads were driven down, many paths were taken. From adsense sites to content sites and on to pay per click marketing. It’s been quite a ride.
Some of the challenges
When starting out in my quest to build a business on the internet. I had no idea what direction to take. So many ways to go and so many sales pitches to pull you in multiple directions. The learning curve was fun too. Learning how to build a website with html pages, or using php. Using Word Press to build complete sites too. All the code involved in putting it all together was quite a challenge.
Frustration beyond belief
With so many marketing experts making all the money you hear about. Pushing the products that have all the answers, most fall short of the mark. For me, each new marketing product provided some of the pieces, but not all of them. Then once you’ve accumulated all the software and tools you “think” are needed, how the heck do you tie it all together and make it work?
I’ve been to seminars and joined many memberships in the quest for answers. One thing seems to be very common in this journey, I’m not alone! Everywhere I go, people are looking for many of the same answers that I am. All the while, the super guru marketers were raking it in. They all make it sound so easy!
Continuous education that never ends
Making contacts and learning as you stumble forward is part of the adventure for me. Finding like minded people and forming your own mini mastermind group is much better than going it alone.
Finding a mentor that can help you when you need it is priceless. After flopping around like a fish on the beach, I stumbled on Mark Hendricks. As a member of his Internet Success System, I have access to continuing education and a mentor that helps me when I need it.
Concentrated effort was the answer for me
One of the things that was hard to get a grip on was the massive amount of information to digest. Getting hit with the latest sales pitch each day just pulls you in other directions. I would start to question the projects being worked on and change direction way too often.
Having a core mastermind group helped to hash things out and at least see things through. Then make conclusions whether it was the right track or not.
My conclusion was to concentrate on one thing, take the profits and outsource other parts of the business. In looking at the big picture, traffic and lead generation were two of the biggest keys to success. Master the ability to drive traffic, generate leads and income along the way. Pay per click (PPC), cost per action (CPA) would be where my efforts would go.
Pay Per Click master
Thanks to Chris McNeeney and Perry Marshall for opening my eyes to the world of pay per click. My education in pay per click got a real jump start when I bought a copy of Adwords Miracle. Chris has created quite a stir in the pay per click affiliate market with his hard hitting methods. Chris has also released Project X last summer and the latest in the series is Day Job Killer.
Chris also does a great job of keeping the series up to date with additional reports. There are many pay per click products on the market, some are very good, some not so good. This series builds a good fundamental and advanced knowledge of how to start from scratch and make a profit with pay per click.
The future looks even brighter now
With my new found direction and ignoring all the noise has been refreshing. Putting all my efforts toward a given path has really helped reduce stress. Being pulled in too many directions is a thing of the past. There is a profitable purpose to most everything now. Since going to the ppc-cpa seminar, I’ve got a new lease on this business. The few who attended were exposed to some pretty powerful techniques. The last piece of my puzzle will be getting my hands on the complete course which will be released soon.
Stay tuned for more insight from a non guru speaking from the trenches.
